Online Gambling Payments Getting Back to Normal?

Online gambling sites appear to be getting back to normal, or some semblance of it.  Nothing even close to the way things were prior to NETeller's abrupt departure from the US marketplace.

Hard hit Matchbook.com was now reporting just a four to five day waiting period.

"$2,500 Matchbook check (Fedex) requested Monday afternoon and received Thursday morning," announced one member of the SBR Forum.

Sportsbook.com has been among the most highly publicized online gambling firms with payment processing issues following its long time processor's decision to stop writing checks out for US clients, is slowly getting caught up with its withdrawal backlog.

Sportsbook was caught in a catch 22, able to process deposits better than anyone else via credit card.  But because credit card issuing banks prevent payouts via cards, Sportsbook.com was left scrambling to find a new and reliable check and wire processor that could handle its business volume.  In some case, the firm handles ten times the amount of business than many of its closest competitors.

One of the largest online casinos, Golden Palace, has not been immune to the online gambling payout crisis either.  Some customers report over two months.  Others report checks now arriving but there have been issues of checks bouncing over this two month time period.  Apparently, a major processor for the industry was shut off from its bank resulting in said insufficient funds.

Throughout all this turmoil it sometimes becomes difficult trying to figure out which gambling companies are simply having payment processing issues and those who are having "other types of issues".

Cascade Sports, a long time credit book with some post up business, is widely rumored to have lost its chief financial backer.  This shop has "sent out Western Union checks" to customers....supposedly.  But that was nearly two weeks ago and no check.  And worse still, nonUS customers are reporting slow pays.

"Requested $1300 from Cascade via WU (non-US) on the 27th of March. Money was taken from my account right away. No control number yet," said another poster on SBR.

Unfortunately, most industry experts agree the Cascade situation should be separated from the overall online gambling crisis related to "legitimate" processing issues.

The following statement was issued by SBR management over the weekend:

Cascade, which has blamed a variety of processing issues for withdrawal delays, is unable to pay due to lack of funds. There is currently no timetable set for when payments may resume or information regarding how Cascade plans to address its debt. Users are hopeful that the book will be able to partner with an existing operation as it has done in the past, although it is unlikely due to Cascade's volatile bookmaking style. Bettors should ignore all sales calls and bonus offers at this time.
