32Red Issues Positive Trading Update
Thursday, January 31, 2008 mgowanbo.cc
Year-on-year growth in both turnover and numbers of active players
The Gibraltar-based online gambling group 32Red has issued an update on trading for the year ended 31 December 2007, reporting that casino and poker business as a whole has performed well during 2007 and has experienced year-on-year growth in both turnover and the number of active players, principally led by a strong casino performance.
Online casino business revenues increased by 7.6 percent following a 26 percent increase in active players, with the firm's poker offering enjoying more active players than in the previous period, but a reduced yield per player, in line with the industry as a whole.
CEO Ed Ware says that trading for the year ended 31 December 2007 is expected to be in line with management expectations, and that 32Red intends to expand its European profile in 2008 and will shortly launch a French language casino service as the first of a number of entries into targeted European territories.
The move into France follows the launch of the Spin3 powered 32Red mobile casino earlier this month and represents the first stage in a roll out of core products and services.
The update outlines the following key performance indicators:
* Gross Win GBP 10.2 million, up 5.6 percent on 2006
* Casino Gross Win GBP 9.0 million, up 7.6 percent on 2006
* Poker Gross Win GBP 1.2 million, down 7.3 percent on 2006
* Active customers 33 745, up 17.0 percent on 2006
* Casino active players 18 992, up 26.6 percent on 2006

* Casino player yield GBP 474 (2006: GBP 557)
* Poker player yield GBP 82 (2006: GBP 95)
* New customers 25 640 up 14.3 percent on 2006
* New Casino players 14 568, up 19.3 percent on 2006
* New Poker players 11 054, up 8.2 percent on 2006
* Overall cost per Acquisition (inclusive of affiliate costs) were GBP 87 on casino and poker players (2006: GBP 114)
* Casino cost per acquisition GBP 137 (2006: GBP 184)
* Poker cost per acquisition GBP 22 (2006: GBP 29)
The update records the sale to Stan James (Gibraltar) Limited of 32Red's BetDirect sportsbook brand for GBP 5.75 million, which was completed successfully on 10 December 2007, and reveals that 32 Red has a white label agreement on sportsbetting with the respected British bookie group.
Turning to bingo, the update announces that 32Red will shortly enter the bingo market with 32RedBingo.com, with a launch planned for early February 2008, initially in the United Kingdom. The company also has Asian ambitions, and the statement notes that 32Red continues to actively investigate commercial opportunities in the East.
Commenting on performance, Ware said: "Following the sale of Betdirect in October 2007, the Group returns immediately to a cash generative position. Management focus is now 100 percent on the core successful 32Red brand. The launch of new products and new language services herald the start of 32Red's next phase of growth.
Ware said that trading in the first few weeks of 2008 had shown strong growth over 2007 in all areas of casino and poker room operations. |
