And no....it's not the infamous Senator Kyl!
Congressman Barney Frank welcomed a new sponsor for his Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act proposal HR 2046 this week, which seeks to license and regulate online gambling in the USA rather than prohibit the pastime.
Arizona Representative Raul M. Grijalva joined 37 other US politicians who have signed on as co-sponsors for the Bill - still a long way from a significant number but progress nevertheless.
The latest Congressman to join the Barney Frank crusade against the unpopular Unlawful Internet Gambling and Enforcement Act, which bans financial transactions with online gambling companies, serves on the Committee on Natural Resources and is Chairman of the National Parks, Forests and Public Lands Subcommittee, the Committee on Small Business and the Committee on Education and Labour.
In addition, Representative Grijalva serves on the Jobs and the Economy Task Force, and the Homeland Security Task Force. He is also active on Congressional caucuses regarding Addiction, Treatment, and Recovery, the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and the Port Security Caucuses, and is about to take over as co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. |
