12 days to distribute $7 million in prizes as top online poker competition kicks off
One of online poker's biggest tournament series has started rolling this week with the 5th Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) offering a total prize pool of $7 million spread over a series of competitions and 12 days of action.
First up this week was a $500 000-guaranteed tournament hosted by World Poker Tour champ and author Phil Gordon. The buy-in was set at $200+$16. Following that, a $200+$16 H.O.R.S.E. event featuring two-time World Series of Poker $50 000 H.O.R.S.E. final tabler David Singer. Players compete for a $150 000 guaranteed prize pool starting.
Five-time gold WSOP bracelet winner Allen Cunningham is the guest of honour for Full Tilt's $200 000 guaranteed Pot-Limit Hold'em tournament this Friday. The event features a $200+$16 buy-in and starts at 9 p.m. (ET).
On Saturday afternoon it's a $500+$35 Pot-Limit Omaha six-max event scheduled for 3 p.m. (ET) with a $150 000 guaranteed prize pool and hosted by 2007 WSOP bracelet winner Robert Mizrachi. Later the same day No-Limit Hold'em action is available in a tournament getting underway at 4:30 p.m. (ET) with a $300 000 guaranteed prizepool. British pro Rolande De Wolfe, will be online to answer questions and compete.
Sunday's action includes a $300+$22 No-Limit Hold'em tourney with a $1 million prize pool and the action starting a 6 p.m. (ET).
The FTOPS events continue into next week, including No-Limit Hold'em six-max, Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo, Seven-Card Stud, Limit Hold'em and No-Limit Hold'em main event scheduled for August 19. Poker aces will abound on the site then, too with scheduled appearances online by Erica Schoenberg, Stuart Paterson, Jon D'Agostino, David Oppenheim, Greg Mueller, Phil Ivey, Max Pescatori and Paul Wasicka. |
