37 000 stolen card numbers and ID details found on would be terrorist's computer
Bookmaker's Review reports the alarming news this week that 3 individuals who have pleaded guilty to using the Internet to incite murder, and stolen credit card information to launder money used well known UK sportsbetting sites and had access to some 37 000 stolen identities and credit card numbers.
British anti-terror investigators who arrested Tariq al-Daour, Wasneem Mughal and Younes Tsouli found that the trio had carried out 350 transactions using 130 compromised credit cards, and that al-Daour's computer had some 37 000 stolen credit card numbers with full personal details in its database.
The report should trigger a warning among Internet website operators that credit cards need to be thoroughly checked in Internet purchases. |
