CEO of Gibraltar telecoms provider appointed an independent non-executive director
The Party Gaming online gambling group has announced the immediate appointment of Tim Bristow (51) to the Board as an independent non-executive director.
Bristow, who is a chartered accountant, is the Chief Executive Officer of Gibtelecom Limited, Gibraltar’s primary telecommunications provider, a position he has held since 2001 when the company was founded. From 1997 to early 2007, he served as the Gibraltar Government’s Financial and Development Secretary. He was also formally a director at the National Audit Office, London and Private Secretary to the Comptroller and Auditor General.
Bristow replaces Lars Berg, who has resigned from the Board to pursue his other business interests. Berg joined the Board as an independent non-executive director before the company’s IPO in June 2005.
Commenting on the changes, Michael Jackson, Party Gaming’s Chairman said: “The Board looks forward to working with Tim, who is an accomplished professional with a great deal of experience that will serve PartyGaming well. We are sorry to see Lars leave but appreciate his need to relinquish his PartyGaming obligations to pursue other business opportunities. The Board thanks Lars for his invaluable contribution over the last two years and wishes him well for the future.”
Gibtelecom, a 50 percent joint venture between the government of Gibraltar and the American company Verizon has been largely developed whilst Bristow has been in command, growing in business and technology terms and investing $70 million in the latest telecommunications technology, according to World Investment News.
He facilitated the deal that merged Gibraltar NYNEX with Gibtel in 2001, becoming the CEO of the organisation that was created. |
