Gambling report shows Manitoba slightly ahead in problem gambling
8/7/2008
The Addictions Foundation of Manitoba released it's latest gambling report today.
It says the problem gambling rate in Manitoba is slightly higher than the national average, but that most Manitobans do not have a problem with their gambling.
The report pegs the problem gambling rate at 1.4 percent, with VLTs being the most common form of gambling.
The report also notes that the number of moderate risk gamblers is at 4.7 percent.
John Borody of the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba tells CJOB that is the group they target to prevent them from becoming problem gamblers.
The number of moderate risk gamblers is almost double that of 2001. |
