UK marketing company announces intentions...but where's the detail?
Although no firm arrangements have yet been made, the Latin American region could be another international poker contest destination if plans by Vega Promotional Systems, a listed "penny stock" company in the UK, come to fruition. The contest could feature stops in eight Latin American countries, specifically Puerto Rico, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica.
Vega Promotional Systems, which has online poker interests, wants the first season of the Latin American Poker Tour to take place next year. No dates or casino locations have been announced, however. Similarly, although Vega hinted at a strong professional player presence and television coverage for the event, it provided no detail.
In the online poker sector, Vega again makes non-specific references to having a license for an unidentified gambling software source code that would empower it to provide customised poker businesses to interested parties. Vega does identify one of its clients in claiming it promotes a UK poker pro called Bob “The Butcher” Clarke and his poker website, which apparently uses the "Vega Gaming System."
Vega has promised more detail on its proposed LAPT in the near future. If this is not forthcoming and specific, the conclusion may be drawn that the announcements are mainly of a stock hyping nature. |
