40 year old hits major Euro lotto prize
Getting widespread TV and newspaper coverage this week is the massive lotto win by a Scots postal worker, who is a stunning GBP35.4 million richer after winning the EuroMillions draw.
The BBC reported that Angela Kelly (40) was "flabbergasted" after landing the UK's biggest lottery prize.
The East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire postal worker was not aware of her win until several days after the draw, as her prizewinning ticket was in her handbag and was checked only when she heard the main prize had not yet been claimed.
Angela lives with her 14-year-old son, and said she would quit her job as a GBP 21 000 a year transport manager at a Glasgow post office sorting department.
Angela's win is not the largest in lotto history - in July 2005, mother-of-six Dolores McNamara, from Limerick, Ireland, won GBP77 million, and in February 2006 three ticket holders won a share of GBP126 million. |
