Apuestas makes the switch after only six months with Skill Games Poker Network
The Malta licensed Apuestas Poker site is in the process of switching from the little known Skill Games Poker Network (SGPN) to the 40+ sites Microgaming Poker Network this week, after only six months with the SGPN. The reasons for the change have not been made public, but probably relate to the better player liquidity on the well established Microgaming network.
The move includes a switch to Microgaming poker software.
SGPN members are TonyG Poker, Oceans Gaming Poker, Naked Poker and Gamesgrid Poker.
With a clear focus on the Spanish market, Apuestas.com will take advantage of Microgaming’s multi-language capabilities, launching in both English and Spanish from the outset. Players on the poker room will enjoy access to an aggressive tournament schedule and the opportunity to win one of hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of buy-ins to the world’s great land-based tournaments. Microgaming’s Poker Network currently guarantees over $1 million a week in free rolls, and provides poker in more languages than other networks.
Jonas Delin, Managing Director at Apuestas.com says, “Poker will prove an increasingly important part of our product mix as online gaming in Spain continues to grow. After an extensive review of poker software we feel that we made the right choice to go with Microgaming as they met our key requirements; localisation capabilities, side games and integrated casino as well as an aggressive tournament schedule and high liquidity.”
Microgaming CEO Roger Raatgever said, “It’s great to be able to welcome Apuestas to our network and we look forward to a very strong working partnership. The Microgaming Poker Network continues to go from strength to strength, not only due to our ability to deliver instant liquidity and one of the most aggressive tournament schedules on the web, but also because we are able to deliver the highest level of back-end support. This announcement is a good case in point, since our sophisticated multi-language software was a key factor in Apuestas decision to make this switch.”
Apuestas.com is owned by the Malta licensed Apuestas Ltd company which also operates the Poker.eu and Roulette.eu sites as the first multi channel, multi game entertainment platform entirely dedicated to a Spanish audience. The company provides the market with a highly localised product and a single entry point for all popular forms of gambling, together with an emphasis on quality customer support tailored to the Spanish player. |
