We’ve always maintained that communication is key and now, in a first for the casino industry, the English Fortune Lounge casinos have a Skype function that allows players to contact the support team directly from their computers. Launched on 11 June, players simply need to click the Skype ‘Call me’ button on the websites or in the casino software and they will be routed seamlessly to the call centre. Getting in touch with support has just become one step easier!
While communicating is getting easier, poker’s getting quicker! The Microgaming Poker Network (MPN) has launched an innovative new play format called Blaze Poker. It puts players with similar stakes in a pool, and randomly assigns them to 6-player tables. If they complete a hand or fold, then they are re-assigned to a new table, so they can play non-stop. Offering fast-paced Texas Hold’em action, we are sure Blaze Poker will catch on like wildfire!
Another interesting development in poker is a new method of rake allocation, called True Value, that went live on the MPN on 1 July. This method allocates rake based on historical activity, so players who generally lose or break even will generate more revenue for affiliates than before. New players will generate above-average revenue, giving affiliates a great incentive to keep acquiring them! This is the most intelligent player-evaluation method in practice, and with no impact on the players, it can only be good news!
